INTENSIFIERS:
Intensifiers, accelerators, and maximizers are all sort of "generic" terms for tanning lotion. These lotions generally have no bronzers. This is a great place to start to get a base tan. (And to keep it too!)
BRONZERS:
Using lotions that contain a bronzer is a way to get better results by increasing the length of your tan. If you are consistent with the lotion you're using, your tan will always glow.
Note: be picky about the bronzer lotion that you purchase. If it seems too dark, it probably is. The last thing you want is to look like a dorito. The cold hard truth: that's not attractive.
Bronzer lotions with "DHA" in it:
DHA is scientifically known as dihydoxyacetone and is classified as a 3-carbon sugar. When applied to skin, a chemical reaction occurs between amino acids and the outermost skin layer, the strateum corneum, to produce a brown color, or tan.
WHITE BRONZERS:
Think of the lotions described above but with the DHA taken out! This allows your skin to use it's OWN bronzing super power! "Clear DHA" won't leave any streaking. It has the same benefits, but allows your tan to look beautiful and natural.
TINGLE:
Tingle lotions are the most intense on the market. When applied, the lotion increases the circulation of blood and oxygen to the surface of the skin.
This is your one-stop-shop for a natural, quick, and effecient sun-kissed tan.
Tingle lotions work from the inside out, which means that you will never run the risk of getting splotches or steaks while tanning.
Be careful of tingle lotions. Know that you must have a base tan before using one. If you do not like the feeling of being hot, or even slightly "stinging", do not go for a lotion like this!
Some may feel this lotion start reacting in the tanning bed. Others feel the sensation about five minutes after their tan. This feeling goes away in less than two hours.
